The collaboration of Berlin-based producer Carsten Aermes aka Phon.o and Kuala Lumpur-bound duo Bass Sekolah has just been released on Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label, titled Cracking Space Pt. 1 – we guess we should be expecting more music like this bassline-driven cut where that EP came from.
Travelling by bus and drone copter it's quite reminiscent of other recent music videos. Alongside the track's beat progressions—hat tip to UK garage and house as well as some German Capital techno tradition—Bass Sekolah's soothing vocals are a perfect fit for a quite melancholic travel through the jungle, urban areas and down the Autobahns.«
